Dr. Alan Farber is not only a leader and educator but continues to get dentists together. In 2002 he started the perioimplant message board – that grew to over 400 specialists had over 28000 postings. This led to the founding of iADS- International Association of Dental Specialists. Dr. Farber continues to practice Periodontics and is the director of 2 Spear Study Clubs and a Seattle Study Club- The Long Island Dental Forum. He is a clinical assistant Professor at StonyBrook School of Dentistry and in 2019 became a certified Laser Instructor from the Institute of Advanced Laser Dentistry (IALD). He is a Past President of Suffolk County Dental Society, Northern Brookhaven Dental Group, and the Northeastern Society of Periodontists. He is a member of American Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Periodontology, the New York State Society of Periodontists, the Northeastern Society of Periodontists, ITI-International Team of Implantology, Suffolk County Dental Society, New York State Dental Association and a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
