Dr. Walter Tatch to Share his Journey of Reducing Opioids in Specialist Practice

Pain management is one of the most critical aspects of practice in Dentistry. A review of currently available options and alternatives for pain management will be discussed. The Office Protocol designed to reduce opioid prescription will be reviewed. We performed a three -year retrospective analysis of heavy opioid utilization in our practice after introduction of The Office Protocol and found a three -fold decrease in the number of heavy opioids required for patients undergoing various oral surgery procedures.

Dr. Walter Tatch is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is a graduate of University of California at San Fransisco and University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr Tatch is a Fellow of American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American and International Associations of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of numerous professional organizations including ADA, CDA, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Tatch has devoted his career to excellence in patient care and comfort. He is a frequent speaker at the local study clubs and professional meetings.
