Speaker: Dr. Salam O. Salman, DDS, MD, FACS
Dr. Salam O. Salman joined Atlanta Oral and Facial Surgery in September 2023, bringing extensive expertise to the private practice setting. He previously served as Associate Professor and Residency Program Director at the University of Florida Health – Jacksonville, where his career was distinguished by leadership in education, research, and clinical care.
After completing his dental education at the University of Michigan, Dr. Salman pursued medical school and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Kentucky. Following residency, he transitioned into a full-time academic role at UF-Jacksonville before moving into private practice in Atlanta.
Dr. Salman’s surgical focus includes facial trauma management, orthognathic surgery, surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, dentoalveolar surgery, and complex dental implant reconstruction. He is the sole editor of a recent textbook on managing obstructive sleep apnea and co-editor of an atlas on zygomatic implants. With over 20 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 13 book chapters, and numerous national and international lectures, he is widely recognized as a leader in the field. He also serves as a board examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
